Bringing Retro Back

Get Along

Scrapbooking that is. Art journaling for me has opened a whole new avenue for using all those hoarded, "old", scrapbook supplies I have in my stash. See, in scrapbooking, I've always been "trendy". Closly watching mags, blogs and websites for what's new... unable to avoid buying all things "hot". This has left me with quite a few supplies (have you seen my crazy room??).
For some reason, I have avoided what's trendy in art journaling. Instead I have focused on what I like, using what I have, and love. I strive for what's truly "me", using supplies that aren't what's currently "hot", but rather what's speaking to me at the time. It's such a joy to use such treasured supplies. I love using in this form where I can fondle them, love them.
I'm enjoying my new found passion... I hope you are out there using your treasured, hoarded, supplies right along with me.
Much love.

  2. That's so interesting. I think that I tend to be less trendy when it comes to art journaling too!

  3. I'm with you about the trendy part. There are no rules in art journaling. You can use those treasured/hoarded papers and goodies with no worries. When I started, I was nervous about doing collage. Other than glueing an occasional picture somewhere on my page, I mostly doodled. Now, I'm focused mostly on collage. Where I go in the future, who knows? My art journal is mine and I make the rules... ; )
