Happy Monday!!

I have been flooding Youtube with my Ustream recordings.  Please stay with me!  These videos take at least an hour each to convert, and I need to catch up as I will be creating two new recordings weekly.

Live Art Journaling on Ustream Recordings

Hi All!

First off, thank you so much for all the support and kind words you have sent me in the last few days. I am humbled.

If you follow me over on Ustream and enjoy my recordings because you can't make it live, please read.  Ustream has changed their policy regarding space limitations for recorded videos.  As I have been streaming for almost two years I was well over the limit.  I deleted some of the older ones, and downloaded others.  I am turning them into sped up videos and posting them on Youtube.  Above is a sample.  These videos will have no sound as I have sped them up 4-8x.

No worries!!  I will NOT stop creating my technique videos that you all love!  This is just a little added bonus.  As I am still streaming live, I will have to create on or two of these videos a week, so make sure you subscribe and tell all your friends!  Also, as I will be deleting Ustream recordings oldest first, so there is still lots of time to watch them if you prefer hearing the instruction.  Best of both worlds I say!

Much LOVE! xo

Art Journal Background Layer Oil Pastel Resist

Welcome back!

Yes, I am a few days late.  I have spent the past week in bed first with migraines, and then the worst kink in the neck ever!  I am feeling better finally.

Last Saturday I shared this technique:

You can order your copy of the new Pages magazine here.  You can also order a downloadable edition.

As for my absence, it's nothing new.  I struggled through the holiday season with terrible anxiety.  When I feel this way I tend to back away from everything and everyone.  I am trying to work on it, but it takes time as well as a lot of courage and hard (internal) work.  I apologize for letting you guys down!

Thank you so much to all of those that have left me messages and support, it has truly helped!!

Much Love xoxox

Crafter's Workshop Stencil Hop

Welcome friends!!

There are two things I absolutely love:  Crafter's Workshop, and Julie Fei-Fan Balzer.  When I heard a few months ago that they were teaming together I was ecstatic!!  Julie is one of my most favourite artists.  Her style and approach to art inspires me to no end, and I am ever grateful!

When I was asked to participate in the Stencil Hop, I actually jumped for joy!  Unfortunately, due to the wonderful mail system I have yet to receive this beautiful stencil:

It is called Triangle Plaid, and comes in both 6x6 and 12x12.  It is only one of the multiple fantastic stencil Julie has designed.  Click on the link and see all the other fantastic designs.  My favourite is the faux sequin waste, brilliant!

In honour of Julie I wanted to dedicate a page in my art journal to her, and how she's inspired me:

Collage image of Julies' stencil design is her copywrite and used with permission.  I love her logo!!

I created this background using gesso, a pallette knife, Crafter's Workshop stencil "Flower Frenzy" and multiple layers of acrylic paint.  This was part of my ongoing Ustream Stencil Saturday classes.  Unfortunately, I was (and still am!) having internet connectivity problems, and it didn't record.  I will be teaching this technique again this coming Saturday at 9:30pm EST with Julie's stencil!!

Can you believe all that texture is just from gesso?  I absolutely love adding a dimensional element to my backgrounds, mostly to have something fun to run my hands over when paging through my art journal.

Check out this older Youtube video tutorial using a technique inspired by Julie and another Crafter's Workshop stencil, simple and stunning!

Thank you for visiting my blog, please check out the other fabulous artists in this stencil hop!!

I am happy to announce that my ClothPaperScissors DVD is finally up for preorder!  It is on their "what's new" page here!  I am planning to have signed copies in my Etsy in the future when the DVD's ship, send me an email if you are interested so I can assure I have enough copies!

Why a DVD?  Well my friends, where can you take a class for $19.99 and have it to reference forever?  It's such an amazing value for 70+ minutes of technique goodness!  If you haven't seen my little preview of the goodness to come, check this out!

I Get Around... More Happiness!

Welcome back friends!  What a wonderful whirlwind of a day it was yesterday!  It amazes me that even though I am so sick, coughing up a storm and feeling exhausted so many wonderful things are happening!

I am proud to announce that I will be featured again in the upcoming Summer 2011 edition of Art Journaling magazine.  It will be out in stores in July, but it is up for preorder now!  If you're itching for a sneak peak, click the link and scroll all the way down to the bottom for a few pages from my article!

Speaking of preordering, check out the wonderful Pam Carriker.  I was absolutely thrilled when I found out Pam and I were taping our ClothPaperScissors Workshop DVD's on the same day.  I have loved Pam's work since the very first issue of Somerset Art Journaling magazine.

It was so wonderful to have support and be supportive during the actual tapings.  Here is a peek at Pam's wonderful DVD:

We were so happily surprised to find out how well our workshops worked together, it was almost if we had planned it.  I promise you my friends, you will NEED both.

Thank you SO much for the outpouring of support and love!  During this rough time physically, you all have cheered me up immensely.

In case you missed it, here is my promo.  It is not up for preorder yet, but I will let you know as soon as it is.

I hope to see you all live tonight on Ustream at 9:30pm EST

Much LOVE my friends! xo

Taking a Trip, Going through Doors

Happy Tuesday everyone!  I am feverishly preparing for a trip to Colorado I am taking tomorrow.  It's a short trip leaving Wednesday morning and returning on Friday night.

I am preparing to walk through a huge door and I am nervous, excited, overwhelmed, and hopeful.  I still have quite a few things left on my to-do list today, but I am confident I will have it all done in time.  Who needs sleep right?

Since I like to procrastinate, I recorded a Youtube video yesterday:

I will report back in a few days with some wonderful pictures and reveal the "big secret".  Thank you so much for all the support and friendship, especially to those who have been keeping me company while I art live on Ustream the past few nights.  Want to join in?  Follow me on Twitter or Facebook!

Wish me luck (but please, no "break a leg" comments! hehe)!
Much LOVE xo
