Real Journaling/Alone

Alone

Yes, I know it's been awhile. Thanks so much to all those reading, commenting and generally showing me love. I am so grateful!

A few new journal pages (and pics of my MESSY art room!) on my Flikr, I've been busy while I've been quiet. It's no secret why I've been MIA, well, not if you've been reading my pages anyway. I continue to suffer with depression and anxiety, and the holiday season was a hard time for me. I got through it by journaling. I am not the type to sensor my pages, or pretend that everything is all rainbows and unicorns... I just feel that putting these things "out there" is better for me in the long run. Admitting these issues is somewhat freeing for me, and my hope is that by releasing these things into the world it will ultimately help me get over them.

That being said, I have been known to use the odd flap, or envelope, to hide the most raw of emotions or feelings about others that don't need to be "out there". My point is, just get it out. Be real, be honest, be raw. You just never know who you may meet, or better yet, help by sharing the ugly times as well as the good.

Again, thanks for all the support. You guys know who you are! :)

  1. WTG Paula! As always I love what you create. This new take on honesty and letting it 'be out there' is awesome! [Hugs] ~Dawn~

  2. A beautiful page and heartfelt. Love the door with - is it a ticket stub sticking out? Maybe you should take yourself to a play or museum?! Keep letting your thoughts and feelings out and into your journal. It always helps straighten the mind mess a bit.

  3. You are such an inspiration to me with how honest you are. Wanting to keep things "secret" is one of the things that keeps me from posting so much of my work. I'm so proud of you for getting yours out there. Also, since you've started posting more and more I have noticed how much your artwork has changed and gotten so sophisticated. As always, you are amazing and stronger than you think!

  4. What you say is totally right. I have just got into art journalling and have realised that I shouldn't concentrate on getting everything just asthetically pleased, but focus on conveying my emotions, whether they are pretty or not.
