My Art Room Organization

Happy New Year all!

I will be participating in Marion Smith's 31 Day Challenge.  Here is my intro video:

Since I do not want to bore you all, I won't be posting all my video's here.  Please subscribe to me over HERE to see the daily updates.  They will all be short 5 minute video's, but if you are interested in seeing my process of organizing live please follow me on Twitter.  I will post updates of when I'm on live over on Ustream.

I streamed for five hours today, getting the initial sort pretty much done.  My day 1 update is already over on Youtube, so check it out!  My body is sore, but I accomplished a lot with much help from many friends.  It was a great time!

I need to prepare for my class on Ustream that starts at 9:30pm EST tonight, so I must make this short.  I will be creating the first step of one of my 2011 projects.  Grab a beverage and prepare for a fun night!

Much LOVE

  2. Good luck Paula! Can't wait to see how you get on with this challenge! I'm right behind you. I'm reorganising my room this year too and making it prettier than it is, but doing it as a long term project, so will watch your progress with interest. Good luck!

  3. Just take it in steps. Pick some place and start...trust me it is the hardest part (at least for me!) Use some of your to sort as you go. Get trash bags ready, when they are full move them out of the room ASAP. Make a donate pile, give to friends, swap, and find a home.

Get rid of any of the things that don't work for you (like drawers that fall off track, I HATE THEM TOO!). Bring stuff from other parts of your house. Don't buy anything new until you figure out how much of it you will have and where you want to keep it.

Good luck! I am rooting for you! If I can do it anyone can!!!lol

  5. You're doing a great job! Sometimes it's the smallest objects that take most time organizing but you're deinitely making progress.

I noticed you had stack of boxes that you said at some point were from a scrapbooking club and I just wondered if it still existed. I tried so hard to see the web address on the boxes but it was a bit out of focus. Do you have any good tips on monthly clubs?

  6. Hi Paula,
I live in Colorado, but I have a service project where I donate supplies to social services offices in the US. The supplies are used to make scrapbooks for children that are under the care of the state. If you would be interested in learning more about it to see if you could do the same type of thing where you live please email me at: sharedscraps at Comcast dot net. My goal is to spread this throughout the US & it would be fantastic for people to do this in Canada as well. Thanks! Roxane Apple
