I have spent the past two days with tremendous pain in my ankle. For all you wonderful new subscribers and visitors who may not know, I broke my ankle severely last May. I am not sure what has caused this flare up as I have been doing really well for a few months. I am hoping it's just the weather, but I am going to be calling my surgeon tomorrow.
This pain has got me thinking. It has reminded me of the time I spent arting on the couch as I wasn't able to leave it. I completed many art journal pages in that month, most of them very "messy" due to the mess that was in my head. I look back at that time as being positive, a true blessing in the disguise as pain.
Here is what I created then:
Art journaling for me is many things, and at the top of that list is healing. In this case it helped heal both mind and body. A comfort in time of pain.
I am not sure what is going on with my ankle. I hope it has nothing to do with the remaining plate and six pins that are still there. One thing I do know is that no matter what it is, my art journal will help me through it.
Thank you so much to all my wonderful friends, including those of you that are new. I truly appreciate every one of you!
Much Love! xo
Paula, I am not in the medical field by any means, but I would ask your doc about the possibility of an inner infection in your ankle. I know you have been sick quite a bit lately & if there is some sort of infection lingering in your ankle it would upset your entire immune system. Just a thought. (I am paranoid of staph infections as I had one on my leg for a couple of months without knowing what it was & they are sometimes acquired in a medical setting & can become very serious) Hope you get it figured out & feel better soon!
ReplyDeleteWe are all hoping the pain goes away and that nothing serious is going on with that ankle of yours. I love your 'messy' journal my friend and identify with you, my journal gets me through the chronic pain I deal with daily, thank God for our art :-) Be well.
ReplyDeleteI am sad that you are going through so much pain and sickness lately. Any negativity around you will bring on these types of things. I hope all of that stuff has settled. Remember, to bring in those wonderful positive thought processes on a daily basis and repeat, I am healthy and happy!
ReplyDeleteSo sorry about your health but inspiring on how you look at it and how you viewed in retrospect your time last year. Love the youtube flip! Oh, and thanks for your lovely comment on my blog :) It made my day!
ReplyDeleteI am a new follower to your blog and youtube chan and have to say you've been an inspiration. Thank you! I am sorry about your ankle. Hope it's nothing and the pain is gone before you know it. But I do agree, you should contat your DR. Big HUGS
ReplyDeleteSorry about your pain and I agree with the first comments about contacting your doctor. You don't want to have an infection. I do hope you feel better and thanks for always showing your great work. I don't comment all the time but I do visit. Take care and see your doctor.
ReplyDeleteHi Paula, did you call your Dr.?? I hope it is just the weather and not anything more serious.
ReplyDeleteLoved watching this clip of your incredible, amazing, deeply layered, beautiful journal pages.
Hugs!
Sorry to hear you still aren't feeling well Paula. I hope you can get in to see the surgeon so and find out what's behind all this pain.
ReplyDeleteHi Paula,
ReplyDeleteI hope you get to feeling better soon. Gosh, you have had your share of this!! Feel better.
Though I can vouch for weather having an effect on your bones, I seriously hope you can see your doctor soon. I had a bone infection set in a broken leg once and it was easily one of the most painful experiences I've ever had.
ReplyDeleteHope you feel better soon, you don't need anymore ouchies, you've had your share.
