Art Journaling and Friendship

Welcome back everyone!  I recently completed this double page spread during one of my Live Ustream shows.  The only thought I had going into this page was that I wanted to use a certain pattern paper from K&Co called Flora and Fauna.

I love to just put away my expectations and just play.  I used what was around me on my desk at the time, and I love how this page turned out.  I dedicate it to all the wonderful women and a few men that watch me on Ustream and who have truly become friends.

Here is the recording if you missed it!

As for my foot update, I apparently have a strained tendon or ligament in my foot due to the weakness in my ankle.  Since my ankle is week it has put extra stress on my arch, and now I need orthotic insoles.  They are about $500, but I am so happy that it's nothing more serious.

I have a lot of wonderful artful things planned for this long weekend, what will you be working on?

Much LOVE! xox

  1. Fantastic video, I am new to art journaling and sometimes hesitant to just do it. I hope that you are able to get the insoles for your shoes, feet problems are terrible.
Thanks again for sharing, very inspiring.

  2. Hi Paula,
I so appreciated your emphasis on just playing-not worrying about creating what we see in journal magazines-and doing what feels right and fun.
Perfect timing after last weekends 48 hr art J intensive on my studio floor!
Sending healing thoughts and energy your way.
Remember to elevate and soft ice packs as often as you possibly can. Soft tissue injury take a long time to completely heal.

  3. Although it's been painful, I am very glad to hear it is something that can be dealt with without surgery!
Loved this spread and enjoyed watching as you created (I am one of your lurkers for that show) Always enjoy you Paula and what you produce. Have fun creating, I've got a big canvas on the go and a smaller one to finish off, will keep me happy for awhile :-)

  5. Hi Paula -
I'm so glad the surgeon had some good news and that it was not something more serious. As someone who wears othodics, I can tell you it takes a little time to get used to them, but they really do help. And thank you so much for video. I really enjoyed viewing it.

  7. Lovely pages and great video Paula. I love the papers you have used.
I'm glad your foot is nothing too serious. I have worn orthodics for years now and they have really helped with my foot and back problems. Good luck
    Lee:)
