Art Journaling Supplies For Beginners

I am receiving so many wonderful comments and emails, and for that I am beyond grateful.  Thank you so much for taking the time to brighten my day!

Many of the emails I receive are about art journaling supplies, what are my favourites, and what are good for beginners.  About nine months ago I posted these two videos:

Part two:

Please forgive the shakes, I was still in a cast back then!
Watching these videos again really has got me thinking.  Much has changed since then, particularly finding new favourites.

Be sure to follow my blog on the right, and subscribe to me on Youtube, tomorrow I will be updating my supply list with a new video!  I hope you are as excited as I am!
What are your favourite supplies?  What can you not art without?

Much Love everyone! xo

  1. Hi Paula...

I cannot wait to see your updated video on supplies! I love, love, love Pan Pastels. I am enjoying Nova acrylics (so vivid and cheaper than Golden), Daniel Smith watercolors in tubes, Faber Castell Pitt pens. I think I could get by with just those. But I also love having some magazines on hand to cut up (I get them at the thrift store) and some Aleene's tacky glue. Honestly I just got some Martha Stewart glitter pens too. Those are pretty awesome.

  5. No wonder I love your blog - we use almost all the same supplies. LOL! What a wonderful intro you have put together here. I"m a golden acrylic paint gal; love gesso. I use a lot of collage sheets - some that I purchase and most that I make using my own photos (heritage and otherwise).

  7. Thanks so much for a wonderful blog. Here in Australia Golden products are way too expensive for me, so I use mostly Matisse, which I think is an Aussie brand. Just as good. I'm starting to design and carve my own stamps again and I have a set of lino cutting tools from Japan which I simply love. I also just got a dip pen and some india ink, also a new love for me.
