Hope:
This also happens to be the first page in my new spiral bound journal. Surprisingly, I'm liking this format so far.
What:
This is the first page in my second new journal. Yes, you read that right. I couldn't decide on which journal to use for #4, so I have journals four and five going at the same time. As I work on multiple pages at the same time, it seems to be working out for me so far. The black handmade paper in this journal isn't working that well for me however. Even though I coated the page with a thick layer of gesso, everything seems to be sinking into the paper. Ah well, adds to the experience I guess. :)
Lots of other things going on in my art room, including this new page:
I had fun using my new stencil and scrapbook papers. I have also completed a few pages in my 31 Mini Book. I plan to post about it in the next few days, but you can have a sneak peak over on my Flickr page.
I hope you join me over on A Year in the Life of an Art Journal, I can't wait to see what you create!
Much Love!
I am LOVING your journal pages. I too can seem not to decide which journal to work in, so I usually end up with two going. Your journal pages are incredible.....I may take the plunge with the year in the life of an art journal prompt. Saw your post on Blissfully Art Journaling and I'm your newest follower!!
ReplyDeleteLoving that first one especially.
ReplyDeleteWhat is it about the black pages? Too absorbant to begin with?
Monica
I love all your layers - so much to look at and love.
ReplyDeleteLove the layers, looks like you're having loads of fun. My favourite is Hope
ReplyDeleteI joined a year in the life and haven't yet started on the prompts - inspired to get cracking after seeing your beautiful pages! Is that pattern from sequin waste on the last page?
ReplyDeleteThanks so much for all the lovely comments Ladies!
ReplyDeleteYes Monica, the black pages are very porous (did I spell that right? hehe) They are made of handmade paper, not suce a good choice I guess.
Paula,
ReplyDeleteI bookmarked your blog. Thanks for the link to A year in the life---looks interesting and thanks for your comment on my blog--I actually tried the flower on the tiger's head--it's interesting and appealing-----not sure that's what I will do with it--but I like the idea!!
Great journal pages and I'm glad you are loving the spiral bound format! I have 2 that are spiral and 2 that aren't. I've never tried a black page yet though, I just may have to do that now just for the experience! haha
ReplyDeleteHi Paula, thank you for your sweet comment on my blog! I just realized we're both from Ontario.. are you in toronto by any chance?
