Real Journaling, Real Blogging

Good evening all.

Help Please

Another completed double page spread from the weekend.  As you can see, this is another one of my dark pages, in more ways than one.

I was reading on another blog about how there is enough negativity in the world, and that blogging shouldn't add to that.  I've thought about it for a few days.  I completely disagree.  For me it simply boils down to "why do I blog?".  Well, I blog to share my art, yes, but in many ways I blog to share ME.  The real me.  Unfortuantely, the real me at this point is still healing.  Yes, my posts and pages may be negative sometimes... but I'm healing.  That's what's important.  I refuse to pretend everything is OK and beautiful in my life.  I am real, a real person who loves to play with paper and paint.

Enough ranting....  here are the pages seperately:

Help
Please

Much LOVE!  xoxo

  1. I don't find your pages negative at all. And after all isn't that the point of journaling and art journals to express yourself in whatever way is meaningful to you? and let others take from them what they will...

  3. Love love love your journal pages ! I totally agree with your opinion about blogging. Being positive all the time is impossible, un-real and un-human ! Sharing our real selves is the best of blogging to me. People who find things negative are always free to read elsewhere, right? Here's to keeping it real !
    Cheers !

  4. That is what I like about your journalpages. They are real and sometimes raw and emotional. But that is what makes us human.
And if there is something you don't want to share you don't.
Sometimes I have a hard time believing that some people only have good times in live.
But everyone is free to show what ever they want. Keep up the great work.

Couldn't have said it better myself! I love that your journal pages show the real you. Besides, I much prefer authenticity to fake happiness.

  7. Yep! I don't post only pretty things either. I get that some people want to use their journals to help stay and be positive, but others may need it to get the yuck out. I do. I feel you!

  8. I think there's a place for every type of blog. Some blogs are all glitter and sunshine and 'positive', and they must be a great respite for many people who have crap to deal with.

But to say that we shouldn't be negative is ridiculous. That blogging is for only certain emotions is nuts.

Great pages on these last few posts.

  9. I love your pages, and your honesty - I place a lot of value in being true to yourself. Funny that I have more trouble journaling that in a permanent form that saying words that get lost in the breeze!

  11. I disagree that blogging has to always be positive, as well. Blogging (and art journaling) must be HONEST. I love the honesty of your pages and your posts.
    Namaste,
